Bronagh Kennedy
Bronagh’s work is inspired by a love of pattern and motif and particularly those found in textile and costume design. She is fascinated by the challenge of transforming two dimensional patterns into three dimensional wearable pieces that capture the fluidity and richness of fabric. Bronagh uses traditional jewellery techniques combined with contemporary processes, such as photo etching and laser cutting, and a mix of media - including silver, copper, brass and fabric - to provide colour, texture and contrast to each piece.
Her current work is inspired by the classical motifs and patterns of the Baroque period in 17th century Europe . The collection comprises necklaces, pendants, earrings and bracelets in a mix of silver, oxidised silver and 18ct gold plate.
